Keep Track Of Your Fitness Progress

Anyone who starts a plan must see the end result. This logic applies to any major goal that you pursue in life. Whether you are starting a business or striving to lose weight, create a plan that works. Losing weight and becoming healthy are goals that require you to monitor the progress. Here are several ways that you should keep track of your fitness progress.

Take Pictures

Sometimes, looking at before and after pictures is the best motivator for anyone trying to lose weight. Take pictures of the results as they happen every thirty days. Make your first update after four weeks of work.

The most important picture to take is your body from the waist up. Also, take pictures of the areas where you want to lose the most weight, such as your thighs or lower back. If you have lost a significant amount of weight, you will see the before and after photos and notice the results immediately.

Take Body Measurements

In addition to photos, use a tape measure to measure your body as it changes. Write down the measurements in a chart that tracks your fitness journey. This way, you know if you are making a lot of progress, some progress, or none at all.

The most important measurement is made around your stomach. Measure the other areas where you will lose the most weight, including the thighs, under the arms, your neck and hips.

Track Your Body Weight

Next to the body measurements, keep track of the changes in body weight. Record your weight on a scale in the morning before eating. Some people lose weight after eating the proper amount of macronutrients. Your results will not be exactly the same as other people trying to lose weight. It could take you five weeks to lose 10 pounds, but for other people, it takes only two weeks.

Keep Track of Your Progress to Make the Necessary Changes

It does not make sense to track your progress if you will not make changes. If you see you are getting nowhere with weight loss, you cannot continue doing the same things and expect to see different results. If you want to lose 10 pounds in one month, but you have only lost one, change your fitness routines. The main reason why you keep a progress report is to know what you are doing wrong.

Setting a major fitness goal for yourself is only part of the equation. After you set the goal, keep a progress report of the results that include before and after photos, body weight and body measurements. To lose weight and remain as healthy as you want to, monitor the results closely.
