30-Day Motivation Challenge - Day 4 The Calling

Yesterday you were prepared to die, and today let's focus on your calling. You were put on this Earth for a special purpose and it can only be filled by you. This doesn't have to be a complicated endeavor to find your calling. In Jack Canfield's book "The Success Principles" he advises to use your joy as your compass to guide you in what to do in life. That is certainly a key component, you have to do what you love for two reasons: loving your work will aid you in loving your life and secondly, there is no way to grind as long as you will need to unless you love what you do.

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it." -Steve Jobs

3 Questions to ask yourself in order to discover your calling
1) What problems can I solve? What problems am I intimately familiar with that I can help other's with because I've helped myself through them or someone else lead me through them?
2) What are my strengths? What are your natural born talents? What skills have you developed that you loved the process of learning the skill? You may be gifted in one of the four intelligences. Ask people that know you well as they may have a better perspective than even yourself.
3) Who would you love to help? Would it bring you joy to help someone with their dream while you figure out your own path?

Still feel a bit lost? Don't worry, as Steve Jobs pointed out "you'll know when you find it." In the time being, there is so much to learn that you can get ahead of the game. There are some skills that you will need regardless of your callings, such as sales and marketing. Everyone has to sell what the love, a screenwriter has to sell his idea to a producer, a painter has to sell his painting to a perspective buyer. Marketing because people need to know that you exist before you get the sale in the first place.

Enjoy this video, The Calling, may it motivate you today to do what you need to do to realize your dreams and make them a reality.
